Foton Auman Galaxy 8×4 Large Shelter Kitchen Truck
The Foton Galaxy refers to the Foton Daimler Auman Galaxy premium heavy-duty truck. Its 8×4 heavy-duty chassis (BJ1319/BJ1329 series, wheelbase 2100+4400+1350 mm, gross vehicle weight 31–32 tons) is converted into a large-scale field and emergency catering support vehicle, featuring a dual-side expandable shelter body with a complete kitchen module capable of independent meal supply in off-grid areas. The vehicle uses an 8×4 four-axle layout with an overall length of approximately 12 m, width of 2550 mm, and upper-body height of approximately 3.9–4.0 m; top speed ranges from 89 to 110 km/h, with 12R22.5 or 295/80R22.5 tires and a 600 L aluminum fuel tank. The high-roof double-bunk flat-floor cab seats 2–3 persons. Power comes from Foton Cummins China VI diesel engines, with options including the X13NS6B580 (580 hp), X13NS6B520 (520 hp), or X12NS6B490 (490 hp), mated to a ZF 12-speed AMT transmission (ZF12TX2620TD/2420TD) with rear axle ratios of 2.643/2.846 and an optional hydraulic retarder. The shelter kitchen module features dual-side hydraulic expansion to increase working area, and integrates stir-fry, stew and steam stoves, steam cabinet, warming table, fresh and wastewater tanks (typically around 1 ton fresh water), auxiliary fuel circuit, diesel generator (approximately 11 kW) with 200AH×2 batteries and inverter, range hood and ventilation, on-board refrigerator, folding tables and chairs, and reversing camera and lighting. It can produce approximately 200–300 hot meals per hour with a fully independent water-power closed loop, and supports external mains or power-vehicle connections.
